Capital Campaign
Due to sustained vitality of the parish and school, and limited adjacent commercial properties, St. James has expanded its footprint to both sides of Pacific Coast Highway and into Torrance, where the current St. James Catholic School and O’Gorman Center reside. This expansion helped to meet the needs of the time but has divided our parish campus.
As neighboring properties near St. James Church rarely come available, and chances to purchase adjoining lots were missed, we have seized the opportunity to purchase the property located at 128 N Broadway.
To help fund the acquisition, we have launched the OUR FAITH. OUR FUTURE. Capital Campaign. Please continue reading to learn more about this historic project.

SAFETY & SECURITY
An additional 70 parking spaces, eases the overload of current parking, forcing fewer parishioners to cross PCH as often, ensuring safety for all.
UNIFIED & CONNECTED
The new property includes buildings which will enable St. James to move religious programs, children’s programs, RCIA, and the growing youth ministry to a more centralized location so they can flourish.
LAST CHANCE
This was the only opportunity to acquire land so close to the Church. It will provide the resources for today and for future generations to facilitate the continued vitality of the parish.

Opportunity
UNLIMITED
As St. James evolves over time, the new property with its buildings and outdoor areas, provides the Church the flexibility to grow and adapt to the needs of the parish. Through the property’s access and proximity, the Church can revive programs, like babysitting and Sunday School. While growing ministries, like the Youth Ministry, will now have the space to thrive. The property creates unlimited possibilities for the parish and will serve to be a place for the Church and community – offering a place for fellowship, worship, and prayer.
